Salute to Nexperia Workers on their Recent Victories! Continue Fighting for Total Victory!

The International Women's Alliance salutes the Nexperia Philippines Inc. Workers Union (NPIWU-NAFLU-KMU) on their massive victory after their 74 hour strike amongst harsh union-busting strategy! On March 5th, 600 semiconductor factory workers occupied the factory while another 600 formed a picket line outside. Management cut off water, electricity, and food supply from going in to those in the factory, in attempt to break the strike, still the workers were resolute in fighting for their modest demands to improve their daily living conditions.

On International Working Women’s Day (March 8th), the management met the two basic demands of the workers of a daily wage increase of P50 and the reinstatement of union leaders they had fired illegally during bargaining negotiations in December of 2024. Now all workers will receive a signing bonus of P20,000. These victories come after intense struggle, but the solidarity of the union members and their allies defeated the managements’ attempted divide and secured victory!

We recognize the victory came after intense repression due to agents of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) demanded the Nexperia workers to split from NAFLU-KMU, exposing the counterinsurgency methods used by the Philippine government against the Filipino masses. Nevertheless, the undeterred workers fought for their coworkers, their families, their livelihood, and their right to organize despite fascist conditions from the Marcos Jr.-U.S. regime. IWA uplifts the victory of the Nexperia workers and supports their fight ahead as the broad Filipino masses continue to fight for genuine national democracy in the Philippines!

As May Day approaches, People Over Profit (POP), with the support of the Initiatives for Workers’ Solidarity Asia Pacific (IWSAP), invites you on April 26th to join for a webinar on how the workers of NEXPERIA Philippines fought and won their demands after a four-day strike, discussing its importance in highlighting the struggle of Filipino workers nation-wide as well as the struggle of workers at the regional level!
