International Women’s Alliance (IWA) Launches Campaign Against Militarization and War
“US TROOPS OUT NOW!” was the resounding call of the delegation of the International Women’s Alliance (IWA) in the People’s Global Camp (PGC) in Denpasar, Bali.
Bali, Indonesia – IWA launched its campaign on the heels of its successful workshop and action at the PGC. “This signals the start of the campaign to flush out US troops in the Asia-Pacific Region and other places of the world where the US has forced itself into.” says Liza Maza, Chairperson of the IWA
In the context of the worsening economic situation that has pushed the world into prolonged crisis, Imperialist nations led by the United States of America are struggling to either open up new avenues to exert their control or strengthen their stranglehold on existing neocolonies. “This renewed push for intervention must be met by intensified struggle of the world’s women” says Maza
With the toolkit, the alliance hopes to unite and intensify existing struggles of women against militarization in the Asia-Pacific. Several papers are contained in the toolkit to help women’s organizations in their campaign against militarization and US Intervention. These papers range from statements, to information kits, and an activist toolkit of suggested activities and actions.#
