Grow the militant women’s movement! Organize, resist, and fight against rising fascism! Turn fear into fight!
The final results are in, Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States once again, and we must begin to unite all working and oppressed women to boldly advance the broad and militant women's movement. The role of IWA following elections is pivotal in advancing and escalating our grassroots campaigns for stable housing, dignified wages, comprehensive healthcare for our families, and justice for our communities! Positive change in our society has only ever come from the people, including women, uniting and fighting for our rights.
While Trump may have capitalized on the anxieties of the working class facing economic crisis to win this election - his project 2025 only serves the interests of big banks, multinational corporations, and the military-industrial complex. Trump’s claims to “protect women no matter what” is a fear-mongering fallacy which seeks to cover up the fact that he is a criminal and repeated perpetrator of violence against women and that his fascist policies will only widen the gap between the entitled elites and the working people. His fear mongering about immigration, abortion, gender affirming care, and advancement of US military interests around the world will harm women globally - leaving more of us vulnerable without access to essential care and caught in the crosshairs of international conflict.
Despite the victory of the Republicans we must be clear that it is the Democrats’ and their ruling cliques’ own fault they lost the presidential race and majority in The House. Democrats nationally have failed to listen to their constituents to take steps to cut aid to the Zionist state and end the genocide in Palestine. In the last four years the Biden-Harris administration failed to alleviate the burden of the student debt crisis, and instead have worsened the economy by pushing neoliberal trade deals that have led to rising inflation and increased profits for corporations. Biden-Harris also failed to meaningfully address the crisis of gender affirming care - including abortion, LGBTQ+ health access, and women’s health - and instead made empty election promises year after year to try to ensure democrats held power. In reality - women, LGBTQ, and our communities must wage militant fights to ensure our rights to access and health are met!
This post-election period is a time for education and reinvigoration of the mass movement that is led by grassroots organizations in the genuine fight for women’s rights, welfare, and dignity. As we face the reality of another Trump presidency, it is vital to reaffirm our commitment to fight against fascist state repression - including increasing attacks against peoples’ rights and welfare as well as increasing crackdowns against peoples’ movements!
Genuine change does not come from criminal politicians; it arises from the determination and power of working women in combination with the mass movement of working people! IWA understands that the roots of women’s exploitation and class oppression are globally connected - working and exploited women in the US are part of the same global struggle as our sisters in the Philippines, in Kurdistan, in Palestine, in Kashmir, as well as in India, Somalia, Bolivia and in all other corners of the world where women and their communities are uniting against militarization, exploitation, and fascism.
The International Women’s Alliance calls on all women in the United States to stand together, and organize our efforts to deal a blow to US neoliberal policy from within the belly of the beast itself. Members of the International Women’s Alliance will join the national days of action called for by the International League of People’s Struggle to continue to amplify the real demands and calls of the people, reflected in the Peoples' Platform. We know that regardless of the outcome of these elections, neither party had any real solutions to offer given the growing crisis facing working women and our families around the world. Both Democrats and Republicans serve the interests of big business, billionaire campaign donors, and advancing US military actions around the world.
The anti-imperialist, anti-fascist united front globally depends on women in the imperialist core to wage campaigns together to bridge solidarity and contribute to the global movement for the emancipation of women, national liberation, and self-determination! In the midst of fear and disillusionment from the broken system and onslaught of systemic violence perpetrated by both political parties, women are not merely participants in the political process; we are the mothers and leaders that will fight and birth a new, more just society.
